GRANBY – Paula J. Szynal, 44, of 310 Amherst Street, died Sunday, November 2, in Bay State Medical Center, Springfield.
She leaves her parents, Thomas M.. and Joan A. (Dykas) Szynal of Webster; 2 sisters, Susan G. Szynal of Webster and Maria J. Santerre of North Grosvenordale, CT; 2 nieces, Amanda Lee Santerre and Lauren Maria Santerre; and a close friend, Michelle Murray, with whom she lived.
She was born and raised in Webster. She resided in Belchertown before moving to Granby. She graduated from Bartlett High School in Webster in 1977.
Ms. Szynal was a housekeeper at the rectory of Mater Dolorosa Parish at the time of her death.Previously, she was a cook at Saint Hyacinth College and Seminary, which was operated by the Franciscan order, for many years.
She was a member of Mater Dolorosa Parish.
A funeral Mass was held at Saint Joseph Basilica, 53 Whitcomb Street, Webster. Burial was in Saint Joseph Garden of Peace Cemetery. Calling hours were private. Donations may be made to the Friends of Saint Joseph School Fund, 53 Whitcomb Street, Webster, MA 0l570
