Obituary

John J. McKinnon, 83, of Dartmouth died June 20, 2010 at Sacred Heart Home after a long illness.
He was the husband of Alice M. (Bourgeois) McKinnon.
Born in Cambridge, MA, the son of the late James P. and Mary E. (Marriner) McKinnon, he lived in Dartmouth most of his life.
Mr. McKinnon was a communicant of St. Julie Billiart Church.
He was formerly employed as a civil engineer and land surveyor for many years until retirement.
Mr. McKinnon was active in many civic organizations.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; 4 sons, John MacKinnon and his wife Alison of Hatfield, MA and James H. McKinnon, Jay M. McKinnon and his wife Kerry and Jeffrey S. MacKinnon and his wife Emily L., all of Dartmouth; a daughter, Marie E. Vincent and her husband Robert of Tucson, AZ; 6 grandchildren, Jonah, Cassandra, Sam, Ian, Isobel and Chloe; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Alfred McKinnon.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals, 495 Park St. New Bedford Thursday, June 24th at 9:30 AM. Funeral Mass at St. Julie Billiart Church at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery. Visiting hours Wednesday, June 23rd from 4-8 PM.
