MARY (TIPPING) COUGHLIN, a Hingham resident since 1966, died on Sunday, June 20th, 2010 at the Queen Anne Nursing Home in Hingham at the age of 86. Mrs. Coughlin was born in Brooklyn, NY and was raised in Englewood, NJ. She attended Middlebury College in Vermont and graduated from Columbia University in New York. For many years Mrs. Coughlin was a librarian at the Hingham Public Library. She will be fondly remembered for her kindness, grace and generosity of spirit as well as encouraging acceptance of all people in all situations.
She was the wife of the late Angus A. Coughlin and mother of Suzanne C. Jones of Hingham, Bruce P. Coughlin of Framingham, Joan S. Conti of Nashua, NH and Nancy E. Weida of Dennis. Also survived by 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are welcome to visit at the Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel, 21 Pond St., Hingham on Thursday evening from 6-8 PM.
A Memorial Service at the Cathedral of the Pines in Rindge, NH will be announced at a later date.
