Constance A. (George) Marshall, 100, died Saturday, June 19, 2010 at the Salemhaven Nursing Home. Born in Sandown, NH to the late Clarence W. and Ida B. (Ladd) George, she was an active member of the East Hampstead Union Church. She has always lived in this area, living with her daughter and son in law and prior to that, in East Hampstead.
Constance was a former member of the Ladies Circle in the East Hampstead Union Church, the 60 Plus Club in Sandown, the Drop In Center in Hampstead and was formerly a very active volunteer with the American Red Cross. During WWII she was an airplane spotter. Mrs. Marshall enjoyed knitting, crocheting, working on projects for her beloved church and jigsaw puzzles. She took her love of sewing and opened a small business, sewing and doing alterations.
Mrs. Marshall leaves her beloved daughter, Virginia Morris and her husband, David of Sandown, her 6 grandchildren, Robin Burt and her husband Alden, Patti Arrington, Robert Morris and his wife Sandra, Ronald, Lorin and Nathan Morris. She also leaves her 10 great grandchildren, Melissa Burt, Lisa Arrington, Katie Aquino, Lyndsay, Ethan, Joshua, Rebecca, Seth, and Riley Morris and Tanner Novak, and two great great grandchildren, Taylor Greenwood and Samuel Morris. She was predeceased by her husband and soul mate of 60 years, Leland G. Marshall in 1988 and by her daughter, Irene Novak. She was also predeceased by 3 brothers and 3 sisters and her grandson, Steven Novak.
The family received friends Wednesday, June 23, 2010, from 10-11am at the East Hampstead Union Church, 225-229 East Main St (Rte 121A) East Hampstead, NH, with the funeral service at 11am. The interment followed in the Center Cemetery in Sandown. Donations may be made in lieu of flowers to the East Hampstead Union Church, P.O. Box 109, East Hampstead, NH 03826. The Peabody Funeral Home of Derry is handling the arrangements for the family.
