Jean C. Sweet age 71 of Germantown Hills, Illinois passed away on Friday June 18, 2010 at her residence. She was born June 25, 1938 in Peoria Il, to Willard K. and Frieda H. (Peplow) Marfell. She married Donald D. Sweet Sr. April 25, 1959 in Chillicothe Il. He died in July of 2000.
Surviving are her children Debbie (James) Plemmons of E. Peoria, Larry A. Sweet of Kappa Il, Donald D. Sweet Jr. of Spring Bay Il, Gary W. (Susan) Sweet of Washington, seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Brothers and Sisters; Jerry (Judy) Marfell of Fairfield Texas, Joyce Blakley of Cornell Il, Dennis (Mary Jane) Marfell of Washington, Virginia Boyland of Peoria, and Walter (Debbie) Marfell of Peoria Heights. Jean was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Leonard.
Jean worked in Sub Assembly at Caterpillar for 27 years and for several years was a cook for the Third Order of St. Francis Mothers House in E. Peoria. She was a avid baker, and loved traveling with Peoria Charter Coach.
Services will be at 10:00am Thursday June 24, 2010 at the Mason Funeral Home Germantown Hills Chapel. Reverend Terry Rowell officiating. Visitation will be 5pm until 8pm Wednesday at the Funeral Home and also one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery in Peoria.
