Maurice M. Dubois, 69, of Key St., Bellihgham, died Thursday evening at Landmark Medical Center. He was the loving husband of Jeannette B. (Beausoleil) Dubois. They were married on June 24, 1961.
Born in Woonsocket, he was a son of the late Herve and Germaine (St. Pierre) Dubois. He was raised in North Smithfield and resided in Bellingham for over 45 years.
Mr. Dubois was a veteran of the United States Army.
Mr. Dubois was the owner of M. Dubois & Sons, a company he founded in 1963. Maurice was proud of being a 2nd generation stone mason and passed on his craft and strong work ethic to his sons. He was also known locally for selling firewood to neighbors and friends.
He was a longtime member of the Woonsocket Elks (BPOE # 850) and the Italian Workingmen's Club.
Maurice’s true pleasure in life was being a husband and father. He savored time spent traveling in his motor home spending winter months in Florida and summer months at his favorite beach spots in Narragansett.
In addition to his wife of 48 years, he is survived by two sons, Michael M. Dubois, and his wife Vivian, of North Smithfield, and James A. Dubois, and his wife Sharon LeBoeuf-Dubois, of Cumberland. He was the proud grandfather of Jason, Ryan, Katelyn, and Amanda Dubois. He was the brother of Denis Dubois and Charles Dubois, both of Burrillville, Rene Dubois of Dover, NH, Sr. Jacqueline Dubois of Somerset, and the late Richard Dubois and Aline Proctor. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and their families.
His funeral will be Tuesday at 9:30 am from the Menard Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave., Woonsocket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in St. John’s Church, Church St. Slatersville. Burial will be private at a later date. Visiting hours are Monday from 4-8 pm.
