Raymond Lapointe, age 83, of Somerset, passed away June 18, 2010. He was the beloved husband to Beatrice (Soares) Lapointe and the son of the late Adelard & Agnes (Hadfield) Lapointe. Prior to retiring, Raymond worked at Globe Mfg. as an Engineer Technician and was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII, having served aboard the U.S.S. Chicago for 2 years. He was a member of the U.S. Navy Cruiser Sailors Association, the Somerset Historical Society, and a parishioner of St. John of God Church. Raymond was a graduate of B.M.C. High School Class of 1944.
Besides his wife of Somerset, he leaves 2 daughters: Diane Caswell & her husband Robert of Gorham, ME and Cynthia Savage & her husband Hanson of Chester, VT. A sister: Anna Mosley of Swansea, 4 granddaughters: Aimee & Jenna Caswell, Samantha & Olivia Savage, and nieces & nephews. He was the father of the late Raymond Arthur Lapointe.
His funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME, 1521 N. Main St. MONDAY at 8:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. John of God Church at 9:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery, Somerset. Calling hours SUNDAY 6-8 P.M.
