Shelby, NC – Susan Burns-Graziano, 52, formerly of East Bridgewater, MA, died Wednesday, June 16th after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the beloved daughter of Harriett (Kelley) Burns of Shelby, NC and the late Thomas J. Burns.
Born in Weymouth and raised in Somerville, she was a graduate of St. Clement High School Class of 1977, and had worked for over 23 years as an Intensive Care Nurse at Cambridge Hospital.
Before her move to North Carolina in 2004, Susan had been an active resident of East Bridgewater for 11 years, where she was a faith formation teacher at St. John’s Church.
During her years in North Carolina, she was a youth coach for basketball, soccer, and little league baseball. She was also a volunteer at the Dover YMCA of Cleveland County and a faith formation teacher at St. Mary’s Church in Shelby.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her three sons, whom she adored, Sean, Patrick, and Michael; her sisters, Catherine Senesi of Shelby, NC, Nancy Lawrence and her husband Gary of Shelby, NC; her nephews and nieces, Paul and Thomas Senesi, Kimberly Mehler, Kathryn Foster, Kerri Freitas, Nicole Dills and Sara Pauline, as well as many grand nieces and grand nephews.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on June 25th from 4:00-8:00 PM at the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, 666 Plymouth St. (Rt. 58 at the rotary), Whitman, MA. Her funeral mass will be held on June 26th at 9:00 AM at St. John’s Church, 210 Central St., East Bridgewater, MA.
