WORCESTER – Gertrude M. (Paradise) LaPointe, 93, formerly of Lyman Street died Friday, November 7 in St. Mary’s Health Care Center after an illness.
Her husband Joseph W. LaPointe died in 1993. She leaves three sons William J. LaPointe husband of Andrea of Rochdale, Robert M. LaPointe husband of Yvonne of Spencer and Henry J. LaPointe husband of Roseanne of Holden; two daughters Lucille G. Gunville wife of Francis of Rockland, MA and Ellen M. Bleau wife of Kenneth of Auburn; a brother George Paradise of Murray, KY; 19 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was born in Auburn daughter of William and Mary (Mathieu) Paradise and has lived in Worcester most of her life.
She was the manager of the nutrition program with Meals on Wheels at St. Mark’s Church for over 10 years. She was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Church, the Golden Age Club at Holy Name of Jesus Church.
The funeral will be held on Monday, November 10 from the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond Street (www.Royfuneral.com) with a mass at 10 AM in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Sunday, November 9 from 4 to 7 pm in the funeral home.
