Wesley Strakosz, 87, of Paxton Road died Tuesday, June 15 after an illness.
His wife of 48 years Doris A. (Lemay) Strakosz died in 1992. He leaves a daughter Genevieve J. Strakosz with whom he lived, a bother Titus Strakosz of Sutton, two sisters Cecilia Luszcynski of Auburn, and Grace Mangaudis of Worcester and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Strakosz was born in Worcester, son of Jan and Antonina (Szlachetka) Strakosz. He graduated from Boys Trade in Worcester. He was a carpenter for 35 years at Norton Co. in Worcester retiring in 1982. He served in the United States Coast Guard during WW II. He was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Church and the Knights of Columbus. He was an avid reader and enjoyed woodworking and reminiscing about the good old days.
The Funeral will be held Friday, June 18 from J. HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 7 Church Street, Spencer. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours are Thursday from 5:00-7:00 PM.
