Obituary

Phillip Evans Griffin, 77, passed away June 15, 2010 in his home following a lengthy illness. He was the husband of Mary Ellen (Lacey) Griffin.
Born in Peabody on Aug. 27, 1932, he was the son of the late William and Dorothy (Whitworth) Griffin. Phillip was raised and educated in Peabody. He was a graduate of Mass. College of Pharmacy. Mr. Griffin owned and operated Macaulay Pharmacy in Beverly’s Gloucester Crossing for over 25 years. Phillip was dedicated to his patients and would go out of his way to assist them. He was a member of NARD, BARD and the Beverly Music Parent Assoc. He was very active within his community and acknowledged by the NSARC and Gloucester Crossing Improvement Assoc. for his efforts. Phillip also was served our country with the U. S. Army and was stationed at the Fitzsimons Army Hospital in Denver as a Biological Science Assistant during the Korean War.
Besides his wife Mary Ellen, he is survived his children, Paul Griffin and his companion Tammy Sanders of Newton, NH, Linda and Alan Turgiss of Merrimac, Catherine Allen and companion Todd McGovern of New Boston, NH, Eileen Tarbox of Danvers, Abner and Joanna Allen of N. Berwick, ME and Mary Ellen Groves of Bradford, a niece Julie Zwicker of Danvers, son-in-laws, Wayne Groves of FL and Richard Steinhoff of NH, twelve grandchildren, Alana and husband Alex, Matt, Sam, Sarah, Elizabeth and fiancé William, Missy, Tessa, Jake, Leandra, Amber, Tawni and husband Michael and Beau. He was predeceased by a sister Carol Gagnon and his late wife Janet (Drouin) Griffin.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11AM on Mon, June 21, in Maple Street Congregational Church, Maple St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Annunciation cemetery, Danvers. Vst. hrs are Sun. 3PM-7PM at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers.
