GLOUCESTER: Steven J. Miller, 58, died unexpectedly on Monday, June 14, 2010 in the Addison Gilbert Hospital. He was the husband of Angela (Aiello) Miller.
Born in Gloucester on September 27, 1951, he was the son of Constance T. (Anatski) Miller of Gloucester and the late Capt. Joseph S. Miller, Jr. He was a lifelong resident of Gloucester and attended Gloucester public schools.
Early in his life, he fished aboard numerous vessels along with his father. He later became a commercial clam digger.
Steve was a talented musician, who was self-taught on various instruments including the guitar, banjo and keyboard. He also loved pleasure fishing and drawing. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.
In addition to his wife of twelve years and his mother, he is survived by his brother, Paul Miller and his companion, Cutty O’Leary of New York City, his sister, Pamela, wife of Chris Pierce of Gloucester and his uncle, Elmer Miller. He also leaves his mother-in-law, Felicia Aiello and her family, Claudia and Harry Thompson, Felicia Raftery, Annette and Bob Hale, Joseph and Kelly Aiello, Michael and Annalee Aiello and many nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his brother, Robert E. Miller, father-in-law, Anthony “Nutzie” Aiello, brother-in-law, John B. Aiello and nephew, Dana Thompson.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday in the Pike-Grondin Funeral Home, 61 Middle Street, Gloucester from 4 – 6 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. Committal services will be held privately by the family at a later date. Please omit flowers.
