Ethel Patricia (Wood) Phillips, 84, a resident of Derry for over 20 years, died Wednesday at the Derry Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. Born July 23, 1925 in Boston, MA to the late Isaac and Hazel Wood, Ethel held her masters degree in Social Work and enjoyed helping people who were in need. She was a member of the VFW Post 1617 Ladies Auxiliary in Derry and the Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration.
She was predeceased by her husband, John Phillips in 1998 and by her son, John M. Phillips in 1993.
The graveside services will be held Friday June 25, 2010 at the Forest Hill Cemetery in Derry at 10a.m. Donations may be made in lieu of flowers to ones favorite local animal charity. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium is respectfully handling the arrangements.
