TEWKSBURY - Ernestine A. (Lubee) Gertig, age 83, died Thursday evening, Nov. 6, at theTewksbury Hospital after an 18 year battle with Alzheimer’s Disease . She was the wife of thelate Albert C. Gertig.
She was born on Bailey Island, Maine, on Feb. 23, 1920, a daughter of the late Joseph and Ada(York) Lubee. She was raised on Bailey Island, and had lived in Malden before moving toTewksbury in 1954.
In her earlier career, she worked at Microwave Associates in Burlington, and later at WangLaboratories.
She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Evelyn “Bunny” Lamon of East Longmeadow,Mass., and Claudia and her husband David Turcotte of Lowell; one sister, Evelyn Sinnett ofBailey Island, Maine; one sister-in-law, Frances Lubee of Portland, Maine; eight grandchildren,Robert Lamon of Worcester, Richard Lamon of Windham, NH, Scott Lamon and RebeccaLamon both of East Longmeadow, Sharon Turcotte and Karen Turcotte both of Lowell, DarrenTurcotte of Las Vegas, NV, and Lauren Turcotte of Dracut; and five great grandchildren, Tyler,Nicholas, Kylan, Alison, and Alex.
She was also sister of the late Warren Lubee and Nelson “Spike” Lubee.
At her request all funeral services are private.
