Gilbert “Mr G.” Sierra-Garced, 56, passed away Tuesday, June 15, 2010. Born in New York, NY, he was the son of Margarita Garced and the late Evaristo Sierra. He had served in the U.S. Army and attended Valley View Church. He was employed by Ft. Knox Civil Service in the 1/16 Cav. He was also very proud of his Puerto Rican heritage. He is survived by his loving wife, Joyce Kimble Sierra; children, Tammy Scott, Shawn Sierra, Anita Sierra, Brandi (Nunn) Molthop, William “BJ” Nunn III and Brittany Nunn; his mother, Margarita Garced; siblings, Efrain Sierra-Garced, Rosa Maria Sierra, Rebecca Torres, and David Sierra-Garced; 14 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be 1 pm Friday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway with burial to follow in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central. Visitation will be 1-8 pm Thursday and 10 am Friday to the time of service. Memorial contributions are suggested to the National Rifle Association.
