Obituary

Evans – Mr. Fred Craft, 77, beloved husband of Jewell Craft, entered into rest on Monday, June 14, 2010 at University Hospital.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at 1:00 PM at Parkway Baptist Church with Brother Larry Hubbard officiating. Burial will follow at the Damascus Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Craft was a veteran of the United States Navy where he served aboard the USS Abbott from 1951 to 1956. He was a member of Parkway Baptist Church, and a Third Degree Mason. He was a former Chief of Coldwater Volunteer Fire Department and Assistant Chief of the Anniston Army Depot Fire Department.

In addition to his wife, Jewell, he is survived by one son, Michael Craft of Shreveport, LA; two daughters, Brenda Waldrop of Evans, GA and Linda Rogers of Evans, GA; one brother, Toby Craft of Huntsville, AL; 8 grandchildren, Kristen Thornton, Kimberly Waldrop, Kayla Waldrop, Ashley Harriott, Brittney Rogers, Andrew Rogers, David Craft and Erika Craft; and 4 great grandchildren, Peyton Coleman, Emma Thornton, Christian Thornton and Reilly Thornton.

Pallbearers will be Rodney Rogers, Preston Waldrop, David Craft, Chris Partridge, Jerry Harriott and Alan Thornton. Honorary pallbearers are Ed Hurt and Joseph Penny.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening, June 15, 2010 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
