Theophilo M. "Theo" Silva, 80, of New Bedford died Monday June 14, 2010 at St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness.
He was the former husband of the late Olivia J. "Livvy" (Delgado) Silva.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Miguel and Maria (Almeida) Silva, he lived in New Bedford all of his life.
He was a communicant of Our Lady of the Assumption Church.
Mr. Silva was formerly employed as an employment evaluator for C.E.T.A. with the City of New Bedford for many years until retirement.
He enjoyed fishing and trips to Foxwoods.
Survivors include a son, John M. Silva of Taunton; two daughters, Thea L. Correia and her husband Joseph of New Bedford, and Marguerite J. Silva-Pinto and her husband Michael of East Freetown; a brother, John Silva of Dartmouth; three grandchildren, Brennan Correia and his wife Stephanie, Derek Correia, and Felicia Pinto; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Antone Silva, William "Chu Cha" Silva, Margaret Fortes, and Frank Britto.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford Friday, June 18th at 8 AM. Funeral Mass at 9 AM at Our Lady of the Assumption Church. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Thursday, June 18th from 4-8 PM.
