Joyce Elizabeth (Hopkins) Salles 81 of Orleans, formerly of Eastham and Provincetown died unexpectedly Sunday June 6, 2010 at Cape Cod Hospital following a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of Frank Salles to whom she had been married since 1953. Mrs. Salles was born in Philadelphia, PA May 31, 1929 and was the daughter of the late Max and Anna (Haley) Hopkins. For many years she worked as the advertising distributor for Ranger V.
She was a person who quietly embraced the simple blessings of life. Besides spending time with her family, she enjoyed cooking, crocheting, and gardening. She was an avid reader and she always looked forward to spending time with her many friends.
Besides her husband Frank, she is survived by her two children, her son Jonathan Salles and his wife Georgineti of Southboro and her daughter Diana Comeau and her husband Paul of Haverhill, MA. She was also the sister of the late Martin and Wallace Hopkins.
A Funeral service took place on Saturday, June 12, 2010 at 11:00AM in the Provincetown United Methodist Church 20 Shank Painter Rd. Provincetown. If desired memorial contributions in her honor may be made to the Provincetown United Methodist Church, 20 Shank Painter Rd. Provincetown, MA 02657. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Gately McHoul Funeral Home of Provincetown.
