WASHINGTON…Sharon K. Derry, 68, of Washington, formerly of Pekin, passed away at 2:05 a.m., Saturday, June 12, 2010 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Sharon was born on October 25, 1941 in Washington to Clarence and Isabel Kennel Slonneger. She married Edward Derry in Washington on January 25, 1963. Ed survives.
Also surviving is one brother, Charles (Leri) Slonneger of Washington; one sister, Shirley (Dan) Curley of Washington and several nieces and nephews.
Sharon had served for 11 years as the secretary for the Grand Royal Arch Chapter of the State of Illinois. Prior to that she groomed poodles during the 25 years they resided in Pekin.
She was a member of Jobs Daughters in Washington and had served on the Guardian Council for Jobs Daughters in Pekin. She was also a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Washington.
A memorial service to celebrate Sharon’s life will be held on Thursday, June 17 at 6:30 p.m. at Mason-White Funeral Home with Pastor Dick Hanson officiating. Cremation rites will be accorded.
Memorials may be made to the Peoria Cancer Center Foundation, the Grand Royal Arch Veil Fund or the Scottish Rite Foundation.
