Obituary

Salem: Jeannette I. (Pelletier) Gagnon age 91 of Salem, died Saturday, June 12, 2010 at the Blueberry Hill Healthcare facility in Beverly, following a long illness. She was the wife of the late Armand Gagnon.

Born and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Mary (LaChance) Pelletier. As a young woman born into a musical family, Jeannette played guitar, and with her sister Rita, won several talent competitions. Together, they became regular singers on the local radio station. Jeannette also loved bowling and was a member of several leagues. She was also a member of the former St. Joseph Parish for many years.

Devoted to her family, she is survived by 2 sons, Richard A. Gagnon and his wife Ruth of Sumner, WA, Donald J. Gagnon of Salem, 3 daughters, Dorothy R. Litwin and her husband Edward of Salem, Lucille Kelley and her husband Kenneth of Santa Rosa, CA, Susan R. Gagnon of Salem, a son-in-law, Frederick Ambrosini of Beverly, 2 sisters, Eva Boudreault of Salem and Rita Tanguay of Beverly. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Mary Ann Ambrosini a grand-daughter, Angela Lombardo, 3 brothers, Leo, Arthur and Wilfred Pelletier.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Rt. 114 / 1-A] Salem, on Thursday, June 17, 2010 at 9 a.m. to be followed by her funeral mass in St. James Church, Federal St., Salem at 10 a.m. Visiting hours: Wednesday 4 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
