GROVELAND: Heather Anne McGillivary, 23, died unexpectedly on Friday, June 11, 2010.
Born in Gloucester on March 31, 1987, she was the daughter of James M. and Sandra J. (Horne) McGillivary. She attended Gloucester public schools and was a cheerleader for the Raiders. Heather received her nursing certificate from the American Red Cross and worked in private care.
She had been very active in her son’s preschool, where she was a member of the policy council board and the health advisory board. She loved animals and scrapbooking. She had a kind heart and was a loving and devoted mother.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her son, Logan C. McGillivary and daughter, Lacey M. McGillivary; two brothers, James M. McGillivary, Jr. and James Odum, maternal grandmother, Theresa, wife of Donald Cloutman, paternal grandparents, Kenneth and Dorothy McGillivary, aunts and uncles, Peter Horne, fiancé of Annie Pappas, Joseph McGillivary, Kenneth McGillivary, Jr., Kathy, wife of Ron Esty, Karen Knowles, Elizabeth “Betty”, wife of Dan McDougall, Debbie, wife of Joseph Grace, Marilyn, wife of Gordon Goveny, her godparents, Kathi O’Maley and Ted Beauparlant and many cousins. She was predeceased by her maternal grandfather, Donald Horne.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday morning in the Holy Family Parish, St. Ann Church at 11 a.m. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday in the Pike-Grondin Funeral Home, 61 Middle Street, Gloucester from 4 - 6 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend.
