Obituary

BINDA, CHARLES E. ~ "Don't mourn my passing, celebrate my life."
Charles E. Binda also known as ‘Charlie’, 78, of Marshfield, MA and Chula Vista, CA passed away peacefully with his family at his side on May 14, 2010. Charlie was born December 11, 1931 in Boston, Massachusetts to Iginio and Dorina (Porrini) Binda. He graduated Roxbury Memorial High School class of 1949 in Boston MA, and served 2 years in the US Navy. Charlie retired from the Boston Edison after 42 years as an Electrical Engineer in 1992.

Charlie always had a story to tell to anyone who would listen. He loved living in
beautiful Southern California, loved to read the paper, do crossword puzzles and play
the lottery. He was an avid Boston sports fan who loved watching the Red Sox and
Bruins. He had a knack for remembering names and details from his childhood. He
enjoyed sharing a beer with friends! His greatest joy was his family. Charlie was a
proud father, grandfather and brother. He is survived by his children Rosemary E.
Binda of Lubec ME, Christine M. Binda of East Bridgewater MA, Lawrence C. Binda of
Marshfield MA, Bruce M. Binda and wife Monique of Chula Vista CA, Cecilia M. Fusco
and husband Roger of Wrentham MA and Regina M. Binda of Warwick RI, and a brother Eugene Binda and wife Lois of Centerville, MA. Charlie was blessed to have seven grandchildren; Susan Olesen, Mary, Lawrence and Celine Binda, Andrew and Lauren Fusco and Aleigha Fisher and two-great grandchildren Alex and Darien Olesen and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, sister Rose Binda and brothers Louis and Aldo Binda

After his retirement he often volunteered at the DAV in Brant Rock, MA and was a long time Elk of lodge 2494 in Marshfield, MA. He was a current member of the Uptown Optimist Club of San Diego,CA. He touched all who knew him and will be greatly missed. We are grateful to the staff of the San Diego Scripps Mercy Hospital and the San Diego Hospice. Funeral arrangements are with the MacDonald Funeral Home in Marshfield, MA.
Visiting hours are scheduled for Thursday June 17th 6 PM -8 PM with a mass on Friday June 18th @ 11:00 AM at St. Ann by the Sea Church in Marshfield, MA.
