Richard W. Heenan, 80 years, of Brockton died Tuesday June 8, 2010 at the Signature Healthcare-Brockton Hospital following a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Anne M. (Tully) Heenan. Richard was born in Medford, son of the late Joseph M. and Mary G. (Boyce) Heenan. He was a graduate of Northeastern University where he received his degree in Electrical Engineering, and was an Army Veteran of Korea stationed in Italy. For over 35 years he had been employed at Raytheon, working with Power Tubes that were used on the Patriot Missile, Hawk Missile and Apollo Mission. Richard was an avid sports fan, and also enjoyed cribbage, cards, the ocean and attending plays at the Ogunquit, Maine Playhouse.
He is survived by his children, Richard S. Heenan and his wife Jeanne of Brockton, Kenneth Heenan and his wife Suzanne of Easton, Patricia A. Roland and her husband William of Raynham and Janice M. Chalmers and her husband Sean of Bridgewater, seven grandchildren, Richard M., Dawn M. and Joshua Heenan, Matthew J. and Daniel K. Roland, Meaghen E and Patrick S. Chalmers; three great grandchildren Brianna and Jaelynn Heenan and Gina Gallagher; many nieces and nephews and a cousin Edwin Boyce of Norwell.
Funeral from the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Saturday at 7:45am. Funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church, 153 South Franklin St., Holbrook at 9am. Burial in Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton. Visiting hours Friday 4-8pm.
