Maria DiPietro, 83, passed away at home in Stoneham on June 8th, 2010. She was born in Orsogna, Italy on February 2nd, 1927 to her parents Guiseppe and Concetta (Caniglia) DiRico. Maria has been a resident of Stoneham since 2004 and is previously a long time resident of Medford. She was a homemaker who took great pride in her family. Maria has been a parishioner at Immaculate Conception Parish in Malden for many years and is a faithful watcher of Boston Catholic Television. She is survived by her children; Philip DiPietro and his wife Patricia of Stoneham and Tina Burke and her husband Thomas of Stoneham; and by her grandchildren Jessica, Nicholas, Gregory and Emily. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, Maria was predeceased by her husband Nicola “Nick” DiPietro and by her siblings Antoinetta DiBenedetto, Giovina Iocco and Guiseppe DiRico. Relatives & friends are invited to attend her funeral from the Breslin Funeral Home, 610 Pleasant St., Malden on Saturday June 12th at 8 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant St., Malden at 9 AM. Services will conclude with interment in Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Friday June 11th from 4-8 PM.
