Obituary

Angelina M. “Angie” (Pecci) Bertoni 86, a lifelong Franklin resident, died Wednesday June 9, 2010 at the Maples Rehabilitation & Nursing Center, following a long illness. She was the wife of the late Ascenzio “Ausher” Bertoni, who died in 2001.
Born in Franklin, February 21, 1924 a daughter of the late Martino and Richetta (Pacella) Pecci, she was raised and educated in Franklin. Well known in the community, she worked at the former JJ Newbury store, Pecci Cleaners, and at Ficco’s Bowladrome in Franklin.
She was an active lifetime communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Franklin where she taught in the CCD program, and volunteered at the annual St. Rocco Festival. She also assisted at the Xaverian Missionary festival in Holliston.
She is survived by a son Peter A. Bertoni and his wife Betsy of Medfield, 2 daughters; Nancy J. Woodward and her husband David of Raleigh, North Carolina, Ann Marie Crowley and her husband Steve “Crow” Crowley of Franklin, a brother Fred Pecci of Franklin, a sister Eleanor Smith of Milford, 6 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.
She was the sister of the late Artillio and Anthony Pecci and Mafalda D’Afile.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Friday June 11th, at 9:45AM from the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. www.franklinfuneral.com, with a funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church 1 Church Sq. at 10AM.
Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Friday from 8:30 – 9:30AM.
