Obituary

Albert M. McDonald, age 89, died at Baptist East Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky on Sunday, June 6, 2010.
He was born November 28, 1920, in Woodburn, Kentucky, Warren County, to the late Homer and Minnie Jackson McDonald. Albert enlisted into the military on November 1, 1943, at Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indiana and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Soon after his discharge from the Army, Albert worked for DuPont where he retired from after 60 years of employment.
Albert is survived by his beloved son Jabriele Albert McDonald. He is further survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and many friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Anna Duncan Lowery and Virginia McDonald Grainger, and a brother Hershel Lillard (“H.L.”) Duncan.
There will be a military burial ceremony at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 11, 2010, at Kentucky Veteran’s Cemetery Central which is located adjacent to Fort Knox, Kentucky. Owen Funeral Home in Jeffersontown is in charge of arrangements.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to his neighbor, Peggy Watson, for all of her help and caring support, as well as the loving care from others in his neighborhood and the Louisville area.
