Elizabeth A. “Bette” (Curry) Boutin-Verdone age 80 of Brockton died unexpectedly Monday June 7, 2010. She was the loving wife of the late Joseph Boutin and John Verdone. Bette was born and raised in Stoughton a daughter of the late Francis and Margaret (Cotter) Curry and had been a resident of Brockton for the past 60 years. In 1978 Bette retired from New England Telephone after many years as a telephone operator. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers and had bowled with their league. An avid golfer, Bette had belonged to the Pine Valley Golf Course. Bette loved trips to Foxwoods, her dog Boody and spending time with her sons. She will be remembered as a woman devoted to her faith.
Bette is survived by her sons John Boutin, retired Physical Education Department Head and Athletic Director Brockton Public Schools and his wife Denise of Raynham and James Boutin of Brockton. She leaves several nieces and nephews and was the sister of the late John Curry, Margaret Jones and Helen Ferry.
Funeral from the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Friday at 8 am. Funeral Mass St. Edith Stein Parish at 9 am. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visiting hours Thursday 4-8 pm.
