Edward R. Sneed, Sr., 85, a retired businessman, Clarksville, died Monday, June 7, 2010, at Gateway Medical Center. The funeral will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Chapel with Chaplain (Captain) John Clark Sneed and Rev. Tom Youngblood officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. until the time of the service Thursday at the funeral home. Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. He was born May 26, 1925 in Montgomery County the son of the late John Robin Sneed and Frances Bogard Sneed. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Evans Sneed; a brother, Jack R. Sneed, Jr. and a sister, Frances McCullum. Mr. Sneed was an Alderman for the City of Clarksville from 1957 thru 1974. He was instrumental in the annexation of New Providence. He was a past president of the Lion's Club and was a member of First Christian Church. He was a US Army Veteran and served during WW II. Survivors include two sons, Ed Sneed, Jr (Nancy), and John Sneed (Nancy) both of Clarksville; a daughter, Beverly Busteed (Bill), Cincinnati, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Kristi Kimmell, John Clark Sneed, McClain Wills, George Connors, Bob Busteed, Laura Busteed, and John Busteed; and ten great-grandchildren, Kayla Wills, Luke Wills, Meghan Connors, Chad Connors, Grace Connors, John C. Sneed, Jr, David Sneed, Kristen Sneed, Karlee Kimmell, and Calen Kimmell. Pallbearers will be George Connors, David Wills, Kodi Kimmell, Bob Busteed, John Busteed, Chad Connors, Luke Wills, John C.
