BEVERLY: Dorothy (Telman) McLaughlin, 80, died Sunday evening, June 6, 2010 in the Blueberry Hill Healthcare following an extended illness. She was the wife of the late Paul E. McLaughlin.
Born in Torrington, Connecticut on October 27, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Stella (Wysocki) Telman. She has resided in Beverly most of her life.
Dorothy was a graduate of the Boston Conservatory of Music. She was employed at Filenes in Peabody for many years.
She is survived by two daughters, Deborah A. McLaughlin of Kensington, NH and Joanne M. and her husband, David Gillen of Beverly, a son, Paul E. McLaughlin of Beverly and was the devoted grandmother of Elizabeth, Katherine, Jacob and Ryan Gillen all of Beverly. She was also survived by three brothers, Thomas and Walter Telman both of Torrington, CT and Robert Telman of Plant City, FL, several nieces and nephews and her dear friends, Gail Penney and Debra Nicholson. She was also predeceased by her brother, Richard Telman.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday in the St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, 253 Cabot St., Beverly at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. At the family’s request, there are no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Hospice of the North Shore, 75 Sylvan St., Ste, B-102, Danvers, MA 01923 or to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
