Obituary

WORCESTER___Anthony S. “Tony” Sabacinski, 89, of Worcester died Friday, June 4, 2010 in St. Vincent Hospital, 123 Summer St. His wife, Irene (Audette) Sabacinski died in 1988. He is survived by two brothers, Vincent Sabacinski, with whom he lived and Benjamin Sabacinski of Charlton; two sisters, Genevieve Yankus of North Carolina and Irene Johnson of Worcester and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by brothers, Walter, John, Michael and Joseph Sabacinski and a sister Josephine Jakubowski. Anthony was born in Worcester, a son of Joseph and Marianna (Kasprzak) Sabacinski.
Mr. Sabacinski was a wire temperer at Thompson Wire Company for many years before retiring. He served in the US Army during WWII. He was a former member of Holy Name of Jesus Church and Our Lady of Czestochowa Church. Tony enjoyed bowling and playing softball, as well as traveling to Foxwood's and Mohegan Sun. He took pleasure in reminiscing through photographs and always had time for his nephews and nieces.
The Memorial service will be held from HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St. on Wednesday, June 9, with a Mass at 11:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward St. Interment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours in the funeral home will be Wednesday, June 9 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Affinity Hospice Care, 14 Crosby Drive, Bedford, MA 01730-1451.
