George A. L'Heureux, 74, of New Bedford died Thursday June 3, 2010. He was the husband of Nancy A. (Sylvia) L'Heureux.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Archille George and Gertrude (Foley) L'Heureux, he lived in New Bedford for most of his life.
Mr. L'Heureux was formerly employed as a golf superintendent at the Whaling City Golf Course and the Fall River Country Club.
He served as a paratrooper in the U.S. Army in Germany.
Survivors include his wife; two children, George E. L'Heureux and his wife Michelle of Hernando, FL and Lisa A. L'Heureux of West Yarmouth; two brothers, Edward L'Heureux of New Bedford and Raymond L'Heureux of Fall River; three sisters, Lillian Costa of Dartmouth, Carole Perry of New Bedford, and Joanne Santos of California; two grandchildren, Brittany and Ryan L'Heureux; and nieces and nephews.
His Committal Service with military honors will be held at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne on Thursday at 10 AM. Visiting hours are omitted.
