Methuen, MA- Louise A. (Vallante) Grasso, 90, died Saturday June 5th 2010 at the Methuen Health and Rehab Center in Methuen, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Lawrence, on January 19th, 1920, Louise was the daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth (Tripoli) Vallante.
Louiseās greatest joy in life was her family; she took pride in raising and caring for them and enjoyed their company. She enjoyed cooking, especially for her grandchildren, and was very giving, never letting them leave her house without something to bring home. Around the Holidays, Louise would bake cookies and other goodies and deliver them to her friends, neighbors and doctors. She enjoyed shopping, especially food shopping and socializing. She was an avid card player, and would play with her grandchildren and also enjoyed crocheting.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and enjoyed nothing more than spending her time with her family, especially during the Holiday season. She will be missed by all who knew her.
The widow of the late Anthony D. Grasso, with whom she shared 44 years of marriage with, Louise will be deeply missed by her two children, Elaine A. Raymond and her husband Ronald of Haverhill, Guy A. Grasso and his wife Phyllis of Methuen, one brother, Thomas Vallante of Lawrence, 6 grandchildren, Lynn, Lana, Leslie, Lauren, Marcie and Anthony and 5 great grandchildren, Christian, Nicholas, Anthony, Michelle and Anthony as well as several nieces and nephews. Louise was pre-deceased by her granddaughter, Katie D. Grasso, and her siblings, Mary Fazio, Margaret Lucente and Rudolph Vallante.
The Family would like to Thank all the nurses and staff at the Methuen Health and Rehab for all their kindness, compassion and gentle care during the past weeks as well as all the staff at the Merrimack Valley Hospice.
ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends may pay their respects on Tuesday, June 8th from 3-7PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, Inc., 233 Lawrence Street Methuen, MA. Funeral services will take place Wednesday morning at 10 AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence.
