Taunton – Emerson H. Strange, a lifetime Taunton resident, died May 26, 2010 at his home after a lengthy illness surrounded by his loving and devoted family. He was 75 years of age. Mr. Strange was born in Hyannis, Ma. Son of the late Ellis Strange Sr. and Avis (Hathaway) Strange. He was a loving husband of Margaret (Aspinall) Strange of Taunton. He was a graduate of Dighton High school. Mr. Strange was a welder for Princess House. He served in the United States Navy. He was a past commander of the former VFW Post 2094 of North Dighton and a former Chaplin of the KWVA Rudolph DeSilva Post #1 of Taunton. He was a life member of 611 David Adams and of the Korean War Vets Association. He was also a member of the American Legion in Berkley and the Weir Senior Citizens Club in Taunton. He was well known by many who enjoyed his clambakes, chowder and fritters. Mr. Strange liked to fish and cook. He was a man who would help his fellow men. No project was too big or too small. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one brother Ellis Strange Jr. of Taunton and one sister Patricia Moskal of Connecticut. He was the great uncle and godfather of Justin White. He also leaves many nieces and nephews and many grand nieces and nephews. Services for Mr. Strange will be announced at later date.
