Obituary

TEWKSBURY: Robert "Guy" Hoefer, age 72, a resident of Tewksbury for over 30 years, passed away on Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at the Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston.
He was the beloved husband of Bonnie (Perron) with whom he celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary on May 17, 2010.
Born in Chelsea on June 3, 1937, he was the son of the late George M. and Gladys E. (Langille) Hoefer.
Guy was raised in Chelsea, and graduated from Chelsea High School. He later attended and graduated from the Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston.
In 1955, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served with the Airborne Early Warning Wing, LANTFLT until his honorable discharge on July 27, 1959.
Guy resided in Chelsea until moving to Tewksbury in 1978.
Prior to his retirement in 1997, Guy was employed as a section manager by the Raytheon Corporation in Andover, where he worked for 39 years.
He enjoyed numerous activities including boating, riding his BMW motorcycle and scuba diving. In addition, he was an avid reader and stock market strategist.
In addition to his beloved wife Bonnie, Guy is survived by one son, Guy G. Hoefer and his significant other, Melanie Goodridge of Tewksbury; one daughter, Bonnie S. Gannon and her husband Hal of Lowell; four grandchildren, Courtney Koval, John R. Koval, Ashley Hoefer, and Brittany Hoefer; three great grandchildren, Joshua Peliquin, John R. Koval, Jr. and Nicholas Koval; two sisters, Gail Daley of Everett and Glenda Mascis of Chelsea; his mother-in-law, Charlotte Perron of Faribault, MN; two sisters-in-law, Judy Noland and Dotty Huber both of Faribualt, MN; two brothers-in-law, Wally Perron and his wife Sylvia of Cleveland, MN and David Perron and his wife Debbie of Eagan, MN; also many nieces and nephews.
Guy was the son-in-law of the late Lionel P. Perron, and brother-in-law of the late Mike Huber, Robert Dickison and James Daley.

Calling hours Sunday, June 6th, from 4-8 p.m., at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Funeral Monday, June 7th, at 9 a.m., from the funeral home, followed by his Funeral Mass at 10 a.m., at St. Williams Church, 1351 Main St., Rte. 38, Tewksbury. Interment at St. Mary Cemetery, Tewksbury. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Homes For Our Troops, 6 Main St., Taunton, MA 02780.
