TIVERTON...Clinton G. Smith, Jr., 75, of Tiverton died Saturday, November 1, 2003at home after a long illness. He was the husband of the late Marion (Alex) Smith.
Born in Fall River son of the late Clinton G. and Mary L. (Peckham) Smith he residedin Tiverton for most of his life. He was the owner/operator of the former NewportMarine Inc. of Tiverton and was a co-owner of the former S'Konnet Marina ofPortsmouth.
Mr. Smith was a member of the Amicable Congregational Church inTiverton. He was a member of the Carpenter's & Dock Builders Union Local #177 ofNewport and of the Eureka Masonic Lodge #22 A.F. & A.M. of Rhode Island. Hewas a graduate of B.M.C. Durfee high school. He enjoyed lobstering, quahoging andclamming in the Sakonnet river.
He is survived by 2 daughters: Cynthia G. Cioe ofBarrington and Cheryl E. Smith of Tiverton; 2 grandchildren: Erica and Anthony Cioe;several nieces and nephews.
Services to which relatives and friends are invited to attend will beThursday at 11:00 A.M. at the Amicable Congregational Church, Tiverton. Interment in Hillside Cemetery, Tiverton. Calling hours will be Wednesday5-8 P.M.
