TAUNTON – Robert B. Lang, 62, died peacefully on May 31, 2010 at his Taunton home, his loving wife and daughter by his side, following a long, brave battle with cancer.
He was the husband of Berta M. (DaRosa) Lang, to whom he was married for over 34 years.
Born in Bronx, NY, he was the son of the late Albert V. and Edna (Howlett) Lang.
Raised and educated in New York, and a veteran of the Vietnam War, Mr. Lang enlisted in the U.S. Navy soon after graduating from Roosevelt High School, Yonkers in 1965 and served until 1969.
He later worked as a patrolman for the Taunton Police Department, and as a driver for UPS, and was subsequently employed by Stop & Shop as a truck driver.
He retired in 2005.
Mr. Lang enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, and his loyal canine companion, Jay.
Besides his wife of Taunton, he leaves his daughter, Jessica Lang of Fall River; two brothers, George Lang of Boca Raton, FL and John Lang of Boynton Beach, FL; a sister, Carol Lang of Boynton Beach, FL; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also the brother of the late Albert Lang.
The family will receive visitors at the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway on Saturday, June 5th from 3 to 5 p.m. followed by Memorial Services at 5 p.m.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
