Mildred L. (Metzler) Brownell of Needham and Harborside Maine died on Friday October 31st at the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston. Mrs. Brownell attended Colby Jr. College and Chamberlain School of Fashion and Retailing in Boston. During WWII she served in Italy with American Red Cross. For many years Mrs. Brownell was a school aide for the Needham High Rock Elementary School until her retirement in 1984. The beloved wife of Richard J. Brownell she also leaves her children Barbara D. Brownell of Needham and Richard J. Brownell and his wife Lindy and grandchildren Tim, Julia and Pete all of Ridgewood NJ. Mildred was the sister of Mickey M. Szafarz of Winchester MA and the late Dale A Metzler of Keene NH. Services will be private.
