Laura F. Desmond, age 88, of Tewksbury formerly of Cambridge passed away June 2nd at the Saints Memorial Medical Center in Lowell following a short illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Daniel J. Desmond Sr. Born in Cambridge she was one of seven children of the late Francis M. and Janet (Lebert) Regan.
Prior to retirement, Mrs. Desmond worked for many years with the Sylvania Co. in Woburn where she was part of the quality control department. Mostly devoted to her large and loving family, she enjoyed cooking for and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed gardening, attending bingo and truly loved to dance. She was also an animal lover and especially enjoyed caring for her pet dogs over the years.
In addition to her late husband and parents, Mrs. Desmond is predeceased by her daughter, the late Kathleen J. Desmond. She is also predeceased by her six siblings, the late Janet Powell, Mary Northrup, Betty Lecesse, Mabel Wright, Walter and Frank Regan.
She is survived by her loving children, AnnMarie King of Lowell, Claire F. Tovey of Dracut, Daniel J. Desmond Jr. of Nashua, NH, Barbara J. Wicks of Washington, NH, Judith A. Correia of Billerica and Brian J. Desmond of Milford, NH. She is further survived by 12 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 374 Main St., WILMINGTON, Saturday, June 5th, at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Friday 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with burial at the Tewksbury Cemetery.
