Obituary

Mrs. Josephine Adkins Craddock, age 88, of Winston-Salem widow of the late John Adam Craddock passed away on Monday, May 31, 2010 at the Oaks of Forsyth in Winston-Salem. She was born in Stokes County to the late William Perry and Minnie McKnight Adkins. Josephine was blessed with eight children of whom one, June Carol, preceded her in death. Josephine was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She was a friend to many and the kindness and love she showed everyone will be greatly missed. Josephine loved the Lord and always put her Savior first. She loved her church, Temple Baptist Church, and her church family, but over the last few years was unable to attend as often as she wanted.
She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, James (Dale) Craddock of Ellensburg, WA, Paul (Nancy) Craddock of Hixon, TN, Alfred (Maria) Craddock of San Antonio, TX; four daughters and sons-in-law, Louise (Lester) Culler of Winston-Salem, Ann (Lindy) Leonard of Thomasville, Sybil (Mark) Price of Winston-Salem and Sue (Michael) Palmer of Pilot Mountain; two sisters, Francis Foley and Minnie Ayers both of King; 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.
Josephine spent the last 2 years of her life at the Oaks of Forsyth. During her time there she touched many and could often be seen sitting in her door way displaying her “sweet-sweet” smile to all. The family wishes to express how very thankful they are for the care, love and support their mother received at the Oaks.
Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, June 6, 2010 at Cox-Needham Funeral Home of Pilot Mountain at 2:00 P.M. Pastor Roger Vaden will be officiating with interment to follow at Volunteer Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 5, 2010 from 6 – 9 P.M. at Cox-Needham Funeral Home. Cox-Needham Funeral Home of Pilot Mountain (www.coxneedham.com) is assisting the Craddock family.
