Marie C. Cardarelli, 88, passed away at the Kaplan Rehabilitation Hospital in Salem on May 31, 2010. She was born in Boston on June 11th, 1921 to her parents Anthony and Mary (Belmonte) DeSimone. Marie was raised and educated in East Boston. She has been a resident of Stoneham since 1976 and is formerly a long time resident of Medford. At the age of 42, Marie graduated from Beauty School and opened her own shop, Marie’s Beauty Haven in Medford. She was a volunteer at New England Memorial Hospital in Stoneham and also frequented the Stoneham Senior Center. Marie enjoyed arts & crafts and painting and especially enjoyed the company of her family and friends. She is survived by her children; Marie B. Breen and her husband David of Westford, Janice Spinale of Wakefield, Frank S. Cardarelli and his wife Eva and Ron Cardarelli and his wife Leslie of Stoneham; by her grandchildren Michele, Nicole, Heather, Marie, Joseph, Steven and Shane; by her great grandchildren Ryley and Sophia and by her brother Alfred DeSimone of Mansfield. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, Marie was predeceased by her husband Frank Cardarelli; by her son-in-law Frank Spinale and by her siblings, William DeSimone, Rose Fasano and Helen DeSimone. Relatives & friends are invited to attend her funeral from the Breslin Funeral Home, 610 Pleasant St. Malden on Friday June 4th at 8 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant St., Malden at 9 AM. Services will conclude with entombment in Holy Cross Mausoleum. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Thursday June 3rd from 4-8 PM.
