Tilton------Armand Alfred Baron, 92, formerly of 765 Union Avenue, Laconia, died at the New Hampshire Veterans Home, Tilton on Monday, May 31, 2010 under the loving care of all the staff at the Home. He was the widower of Darlene (Cotting) Baron who died in 1985.
Mr. Baron was born April 20, 1918 in Belmont, N.H., the son of Cyprien and Euphmie (Gilbert) Baron. He lived most of his life in the Lakes Region and was a communicant of Our Lady of the Lakes Church. He was self-employed as a barber for forty-one years before retiring in 1986.
Mr. Baron served in the U. S Army Air Force during WWII and was a life member of the American Legion Wilkins-Smith Post #l. He enjoyed playing cribbage and solitaire and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Survivors include a daughter, JoAnn Tebbetts, of Gilford; a son, Richard Baron, of Brooksville, Florida and a daughter, Barbara Karatsanos, of Gilford; three grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; a brother, Joseph Baron, of Manchester; two sisters, Cecile Baxter of Laconia and Cecilia Willey, of Rosamond, California and many nephews and nieces. In addition to his parents and his wife, Mr. Baron was predeceased by a granddaughter, Rebecca Tebbetts, in 1991.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, June 3, 2010 from 2:00-4:00PM and 6:00-8:00PM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, N.H. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Lakes Church, 50 Washington Street, Lakeport on Friday, June 4, 2010 at 10:00AM.
Burial will follow in the family lot in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Garfield St., Laconia, N.H.
