Peter J. Cote, 62, entered into eternal life on May 27, 2010. He was born January 29, 1948 to Joseph and Bertha Cote and resided in Lawrence his entire life. He attended Perkins School for the Blind in Watertown, MA where he studied piano tuning. Peter enjoyed music, old-time radio and most of all, talking with people of all ages on many subjects. Over the years he had been a member of the Knights of Columbus, the S9 Ham Radio Club, and St. Patrick’s Holy Name Society. Peter is survived by his three sisters; Catherine A. Lavoie of North Jay, Maine; Anne M. Messineo of Nassau, NY and Claire B. Cote of Lawrence, MA; his aunt, Rita Donovan of Lawrence, as well as two nieces, three nephews and several cousins. He was predeceased by his parents and by his dear friend, Irene Baublis. Peter’s family would like to thank all the doctors, nurses and many caregivers who, over the years, helped Peter to navigate through life. You were truly a blessing to him.
Calling hours will be Thursday morning, June 3, at the Charles Dewhirst Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen beginning at 9:00 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at St. Patrick’s Church, South Broadway, Lawrence. In lieu of flowers, donations in Peter’s memory may be made to Perkins School for the Blind, Perkins Trust Office, 175 N. Beacon Street, Watertown, MA 02472 or to a charity of one’s choice.
