Marion T. (Tinkham) Roberts, 90, of Mattapoisett died peacefully on May 31, 2010 at Tremont Nursing Home in Wareham.
She was the wife of the late J. Louis Roberts.
Born in Mattapoisett, the daughter of the late Earl H. and Minnie D. (Gamans) Tinkham, she lived in Mattapoisett all of her life.
Mrs. Roberts was a member and former secretary of the Mattapoisett Congregational Church.
She was a graduate of Fairhaven High School, class of 1938, and Kinyon Secretarial School.
She was a member of the Mattapoisett Historical Society, Mattapoisett Women's Club, Women's Community Guild, the Tinkhamtown Chapel Association, and Friends of the Mattapoisett Free Public Library. She enjoyed sewing, travel, music, and her grandchildren.
Survivors include a son, Mark Roberts, and his wife Andrea Cooper, of Mattapoisett; a daughter, Gail Roberts, and her husband Rob Price, of Mattapoisett; a brother, Howard Tinkham and sister-in-law Nancy Tinkham of Mattapoisett; a sister-in-law Ruth Camandona of Naples, FL; 2 grandchildren, Charlotte Price and Fenton Cooper Roberts; many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Ethel Apperson.
Her Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 12 at 10:30 AM in the Mattapoisett Congregational Church. For directions and guestbook, please visit www.saundersdwyer.com.
