Obituary

Fred Champa, 90, passed away at home in Medford on May 30th, 2010. He was born in Charlestown on April 14th, 1920 to his parents Domenick and Marion (Cirello) Champa. Fred has been a resident of Medford for most of his life. He served his country honorably as a member of the United States Navy during World War II. For 30 years he worked as an Assistant Clerk Magistrate at the Cambridge Court House. He was also the former owner and operator of Champa Upholstery in Medford. Fred was a former member of the Lodge of Elks in Medford and the Men’s Retirement Club of Arlington. He is survived by his wife, Louise (Worster) Champa of Medford; by his children, Louise Lobao and her husband Richard of Manchester and Denise LaSota and her husband Doug of Saugus; by his grandchildren Darin, Eric, Heather and Kimberly; and by his sister Gloria Parrella of Melrose. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, Fred was predeceased by his sisters Mary Lawry, Mafalda Allen and Carol Shepherd. At the request of his family, services are private.
