Mary C. Halloran, 91, of Dartmouth died Thursday May 27, 2010 at St. Luke's Hospital.
Born in Fall River, the daughter of the late Thomas F. and Mary A. (Connelly) Halloran, she lived in Norwood before moving to New Bedford many years ago. She had resided at Autumn Glen in Dartmouth for the past seven years.
She was a communicant of St. Julie Billiart Church.
Miss Halloran was formerly employed as the Vice President of Patient Services at St. Luke's Hospital for many years until her retirement. She had previously been the Supervisor of the Maternity Ward for many years.
Miss Halloran was a graduate of St. Luke's Hospital School of Nursing and Boston University. She was a member of the American Society of Hospital Nursing Service Administrators and the Massachusetts Nurses Association. She had served on the Advisory Boards of the Salvation Army, the Volunteers of America, and Coastline Elderly Services. She had served as a director of the United Way of Greater New Bedford and the Foster Grandparents of Greater New Bedford. She was a former corporator of the New Bedford Institution for Savings. She was the recipient of the Marian Medal from the Diocese of Fall River.
She is survived by her niece Barbara Koren of Florida.
She was the sister of the late Raymond T. Halloran and Irene F. Halloran.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10 AM at St. Julie Billiart Church. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery, Norwood. Visiting hours will be on Monday from 3-7 PM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
