Mr. Jarvis W. “Jay” Davis, of Taunton, died suddenly Wednesday, May 26 in the Massachusetts, General Hospital, Boston, following a massive stroke. He was the beloved companion of Donna Callahan of Taunton. He was born 77 years ago in Taunton, the son of the late Roy F. and Phyllis (Cushman) Davis. He was educated in
Taunton and had been a lifelong city resident. Prior to his retirement, he had been employed as a warehouse manager for Cirelli Foods, Inc. of Middleboro and formerly of Brockton for 21 years. He was previously employed as a milkman for H.P. Hood in
Bridgewater for many years. He served in the U.S. Army. Mr. Davis participated in several bowling leagues at Capeway Bowl in Raynham and at the former Roseland in Taunton. He was a well known drummer, having played with several bands both
locally and regionally. He enjoyed watching sports, playing golf and spending summers on Cape Cod. He attended St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Taunton. In addition to his
companion, he leaves: 3 sons: Glenn Davis and his wife, Donna of Taunton, Jay Davis of Taunton, and Dean Davis and his wife, Donna of Taunton; 2 daughters: Debby Cambra and her husband, Glenn of North Port, Fla., and Darby Davis of Taunton; 5
grandchildren: Michelle Messier, Tracy Cambra, Brandon Davis, Tyler Davis and
Garrett Davis; 1 great grandson: Ethan Messier and 1 great grandson expected; 3 cousins: Rosemary Bettencourt, Diane Martin and Carolyn Pearson.
His funeral will be held from The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, on Tuesday, June 1 at 10:00 A.M. A Funeral Service will follow in St. Thomas Episcopal
Church at 11:00 A.M. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours will be held on Monday, from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Expressions of sympathy in his memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
