Obituary


Mr. Julius Vester George, age 87, of Danbury passed away on Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at Stokes-Reynolds Memorial Hospital in Danbury. Mr. George was born in Stokes County on May 5, 1923 to the late William Sanders (Will) George and Mary Elizabeth Flippin George. He was a graduate of Francisco High School. He served in the Seabie’s during WWII. He retired from Glidden Paint Company in Greensboro, NC. He sold our government paint for Fort Bragg Army base. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Ruth Stevens George, sister, Clara Rogers, brother, Lloyd George.
He is survived by daughter, Carol (Wayne) Skeen, granddaughters, Julie of Greensboro and Paula of Gibsonville; two sisters Rachel Martin of Village Care in King and Ruth (Burke) Eastep of King; numerous nieces and nephews and the staff of Stokes Reynolds Hospital who loved him dearly. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, May 28, 2010 at Cox-Needham Chapel at 11:00 AM with Rev. Rickey Rogers officiating with interment to follow in the Lakeview Memorial Park in Greensboro, NC. He lived in Greensboro before coming back to Stokes County in 1985. He was a member of the McLeansville Baptist Church and attended as long as his health permitted. Family will receive friends on Thursday, May 27, 2010 from 6-8 PM at Cox-Needham Funeral Home.
