Laconia-----William F. Caldwell, Sr., 68, died at the Veterans Home in Tilton on Monday, May 24, 2010 after his long and courageous battle with cancer.
Mr. Caldwell was born December 27, 1941 in Skelton, West Virginia, the son of James A. and Lucy L. (Hughes) Caldwell.
Mr. Caldwell served in the U. S. Air Force and was employed as a carpenter with Clem Levasseur & Co. for over forty years. He put his heart and soul into everything he built.
Mr. Caldwell was a forty-three year member of the American Legion, Wilkins-Smith Post #1. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and playing horseshoes and was a Little League Coach for many years. His happiest times were spent with family and friends.
Survivors include his two daughters, Tina M. (Caldwell) Hayes, of Gilford and her children, Kayleigh Hayes and Tyler Hayes; Tammy L. Caldwell of Northfield and her children, Kyle Hammond, Ryan Hammond, Megan Hammond and Abbey Labrie; a son, William F. Caldwell, Jr. and Jennifer Burns of Barnstead and their children, Sam Caldwell and Katie Caldwell and several nephews and nieces. In addition to his parents, Mr. Caldwell was predeceased by several brothers and sisters.
Memorial calling hours will be held at the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, using the Carriage House entrance on Thursday, May 27, 2010 from 6:00pm-8:00pm.
Family Burial with Military Honors will be held at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen, NH.
