Obituary

Mr. Edmond J. "Sonny" Renaud, of Taunton, died Monday, May 24 in the
Tufts New England Medical Center, Boston, following a brief illness. He
was the husband of the late Catherine
D. (Morrill) Renaud. He was born 84
years ago in Taunton, the son of the late Zephier and Malvina (Damour)
Renaud. He was educated in Taunton and had been a lifelong city resident.
Prior to his retirement, he had been
employed as a sand polisher for the
former Sheffield Silver in Norton for
10 years. He was previously employed
at the former Poole Silver Co. of Taunton for many years and had also
worked at Reed and Barton Silversmiths
for a period of time. He was a U.S.
Navy veteran of World War II, having
served in the European Theatre, and
had particiapted in the D-Day Invasion
at Normandy. Mr. Renaud was a member of
the David F. Adams Post # 611, Veterans
of Foreign Wars. He enjoyed playing
cards, socializing with his friends, and was an avid dog and horse racing fan. He leaves:
1 son: Edmond J. Renaud, Jr., and his wife, Kendra of Taunton
1 daughter: Linda Childs of Taunton
1 sister: Rita Macomber of Taunton
3 grandchildren: John Bettencourt of
Taunton, Tyler Mascarello of Taunton,
Kaitlynn Renaud of Plymouth
A dear friend: Michael Boucher of Taunton
several nieces and nephews
Mr. Renaud was also the father of the
late Susan Renaud of Pawtucket, R.I.,
and the brother of the late Alfred,
Roger, Andrew, and Henry Renaud,
Rose Czepiel and Blanche Lavoie.
A Funeral Service will be held at The
Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay
Street, on Thursday, May 27 at 11:00
A.M. Interment will follow in the
V.A. National Cemetery, Bourne. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours will be held on
Wednesday, from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M.
