WORCESTER—Tsuyako (Ota) Halvorsen 77, of Worcester, and a former longtime Franklin resident, died Friday May 21, 2010 at Milford Regional Medical Center. She was the wife of Raymond Halvorsen, and the wife of the late Leonel “Leo” Pacheco, who died in 1980.
Born in Shizouka, Japan July 8, 1932 a daughter of the late Kakutaro and Yae (Endo) Ota, she was raised and educated in Japan and came to the United States in 1953. She lived in Franklin from 1958-1988.
She was a retired certified nurse aide and worked in several greater Worcester area nursing homes. She loved sewing, dancing & traveling.
She is survived by 3 sons; Leo Pacheco of Dallas, Texas, Bruce Pacheco of Tucson, Arizona & Stephen Pacheco of Cumberland, Rhode Island, 3 daughters; Susan Gruttner and Cynthia Connolly of Bellingham, & Cheryl Menard of Attleboro, a brother Takashi Ota & a sister Aiko Takasaki of Japan, 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Mass Tuesday May 25th, at 10AM in St. Mary’s Church 1 Church Sq. Franklin, MA 02038.
Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
